Teacher Early HS I

Save the Children 2022 is hiring an Early Head Start Teacher to join our education team in Alamo, Crockett County. This is a full-time position based at our Head Start center, reporting to the Center Director or Education & Inclusion Manager.

What This Role Involves

As an Early Head Start Teacher, you'll lead engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for infants and toddlers in our program. You'll create a nurturing classroom environment where young children explore, learn, and grow during their critical early years. Your work directly supports each child's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development while building strong partnerships with families in the Alamo and Crockett County communities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement play-based learning activities tailored to individual developmental levels
• Observe and document each child's progress using assessment tools and developmental tracking methods
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom following all licensing and health standards
• Communicate regularly with families about their child's development, learning, and classroom experiences
• Collaborate with co-teachers, support staff, and specialists to address individual child and family needs
• Support children's social-emotional development and help them build healthy peer relationships
• Implement inclusion practices and adapt activities to support all learners

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED at minimum; some positions may require or prefer an associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood education
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Background clearance as required by state and federal regulations
• Experience working with infants and toddlers in a group setting (or willingness to train)
• Knowledge of early childhood development and best practices in early learning
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children, families, and colleagues
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and assist young children throughout the day
