Substitute Paraprofessional

Ottawa Hills Local Schools is now hiring Substitute Paraprofessionals to support classrooms on an as-needed basis. We're seeking dedicated, flexible educators to join our instructional support team and make an immediate difference in students' daily learning experiences throughout our school district.

What This Role Involves

As a substitute paraprofessional with Ottawa Hills Local Schools, you'll provide essential classroom support whenever needed throughout our district. Working on an as-needed basis, you'll partner with classroom teachers to create a structured, inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive. Each assignment brings the opportunity to connect with different classrooms and student groups while delivering consistent, quality support for our educators and learners.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers with daily instruction, student supervision, and classroom activities
• Support individual students or small groups with academic tasks and learning goals
• Help maintain classroom organization, prepare instructional materials, and manage resources
• Monitor student behavior and assist teachers with classroom management strategies
• Support students' social-emotional needs and foster a positive, inclusive learning culture
• Communicate observations and feedback with classroom teachers and school staff

Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and varying learning needs
• Flexibility and reliability to accommodate changing schedules and district assignments
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
• Genuine commitment to supporting student academic achievement and positive development
• Clear background check and required screening clearance
