About the Role

The Store Protection Specialist position focuses on loss prevention and asset security at our retail location. Working collaboratively with store management and staff, you'll implement protection strategies, monitor store activities, and respond to security concerns that arise during operations. Your presence and proactive approach directly contribute to reducing shrink and protecting Ross Stores' merchandise investment.

What You'll Do

• Monitor store floors and entrances to detect and deter unauthorized merchandise removal
• Conduct investigations into incidents of suspected loss or policy violations
• Train store associates on theft prevention procedures and security protocols
• Maintain surveillance systems and document observations in detailed reports
• Work with store management to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with company security policies and local regulations
• Foster a culture of accountability and shared responsibility for store protection

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior loss prevention, security, or related retail experience preferred
• Strong observation skills and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate clearly with diverse groups and de-escalate tense situations
• Physical capability to move around the store for extended periods
• Trustworthiness, integrity, and sound judgment
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
