What This Role Involves

The Special Education Teacher - Inclusion position is centered on providing responsive, standards-aligned instruction within general education classrooms. You'll work alongside classroom teachers to support students with disabilities through differentiated instruction, adapted materials, and individualized accommodations. Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Deliver direct instruction and support to students with disabilities in general education classrooms
• Co-plan and co-teach lessons with general education colleagues to ensure curriculum accessibility
• Implement individualized education plan (IEP) goals and track student progress toward learning objectives
• Adapt curriculum, materials, and assessments to meet diverse learner needs
• Conduct conferences with families and colleagues to review progress and adjust support strategies
• Maintain comprehensive student records and ensure compliance with special education requirements
• Participate actively in department meetings and school-wide professional initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Valid Massachusetts Special Education Teacher license or eligibility for licensure
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, curriculum-aligned instruction
• Strong collaborative skills and experience with co-teaching models
• Proficiency in curriculum differentiation and universal design for learning (UDL) principles
• Knowledge of evidence-based special education practices and assistive technology
• Excellent communication skills with students, families, and staff
• Ability to work effectively with students across a range of disabilities and learning profiles
