About the Role
As a Special Education Paraprofessional in Crystal Lake, Illinois, you will work alongside certified teachers and special education staff to deliver instructional and support services that help students reach their individual goals. This is a full-time, on-site position based at Hannah Beardsley Middle School, with availability beginning in March 2026 and continuing into the 2026/27 school year.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide instructional support to students receiving special education services, working with them individually and in small groups.
- Assist teachers in carrying out lesson plans, classroom accommodations, and individualized education program (IEP) objectives.
- Support students with their academic, behavioral, social, and personal-care needs throughout the school day.
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and encouraging learning environment.
- Share observations and updates on student progress with supervising teachers and staff.
Qualifications
- A sincere commitment to supporting students with special needs.
- Paraprofessional credentials as required by the State of Illinois.
- Strong communication skills, patience, and a collaborative mindset.
