Senior Vocational Specialist

Join The Connection as a Senior Vocational Specialist and make a direct impact on families working toward stability and self-sufficiency. This full-time position is based in Middletown at our Roscommon Office, supporting our Supportive Housing for Families program — a child welfare initiative dedicated to helping families access vocational opportunities, intensive support services, and housing resources.

About the Role

As Senior Vocational Specialist, you'll deliver comprehensive case management and vocational support to families in our Supportive Housing program. You'll connect participants with career-building resources, help them navigate vocational training pathways, and coordinate the family support services that lead to lasting economic independence. Your expertise will guide both individual clients and families as they work toward sustainable employment and stable housing.

What You'll Do

• Conduct vocational assessments and develop individualized employment and training plans for participants
• Provide intensive case management, coordinating services across housing, employment, and family support resources
• Connect families with vocational training programs, job placement services, and ongoing employment support
• Manage temporary housing subsidies and coordinate related family stabilization services
• Document progress, maintain accurate case files, and report on participant outcomes
• Collaborate with community partners, employers, and social service agencies to expand opportunities
• Support families in addressing barriers to employment and maintaining housing stability

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience in vocational counseling, case management, or family support services
• Knowledge of child welfare practices, family dynamics, and trauma-informed approaches
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with diverse populations and families
• Experience coordinating multiple services and managing complex client situations
• Ability to work Monday–Friday, first shift, in a full-time capacity (40 hours per week)
• Commitment to helping families achieve vocational and housing goals
• Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience in social services, vocational rehabilitation, or related fields
