Principal, Process Development and Optimization Engineer

Oracle seeks a Principal, Process Development and Optimization Engineer to lead the scaling of GigaScale data center delivery across OCI in Tumwater, Thurston County. This full-time position offers the chance to architect and refine the systems that transform delivery objectives into repeatable, reliable outcomes.

The Opportunity

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is expanding its footprint with GigaScale data centers that demand operational excellence at unprecedented scale. You'll own the development and continuous refinement of our delivery operating system—the playbook, automation, and governance that enables teams to execute consistently and predictably. This is a leadership role where process innovation directly multiplies organizational capacity and reduces variability.

Core Duties

• Design and implement process frameworks that standardize data center delivery workflows while preserving flexibility for site-specific requirements.
• Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in current operations; propose and validate optimization solutions that improve speed and reliability.
• Develop metrics and monitoring systems to track process performance and drive data-driven continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to embed processes that reduce rework and accelerate time-to-production.
• Document, train, and communicate process changes across geographically distributed delivery teams.
• Lead pilot programs for process innovations; measure outcomes and scale successful initiatives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in process engineering, operational improvement, or manufacturing/delivery systems at scale.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and optimizing complex, multi-stakeholder workflows.
• Strong knowledge of process methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Theory of Constraints.
• Proficiency with process modeling tools and data analysis techniques.
• Ability to translate strategic objectives into executable operational playbooks.
• Excellent communication and change-management skills with the ability to influence without direct authority.
