Position Summary

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for the general ledger

- Assist with compilation of financial statements and related management reports
- Monitor fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accrual accounts for proper classification and valuation
- Support audit preparation by gathering documentation and responding to information requests
- Identify process improvements that strengthen internal controls and streamline accounting workflows
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to resolve accounting questions and provide financial guidance
Who We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Several years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including staff accountant or similar senior-level work
- Strong working knowledge of Canadian GAAP or IFRS and standard accounting software packages
- Demonstrated ability to manage the general ledger, reconcile complex accounts, and meet close deadlines
- CPA designation or active pursuit of professional certification is preferred
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills suited to a full-time Senior Staff Accountant role in Ottawa, ON
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and comfort preparing clear, professional documentation
