Position Summary

The Senior Medical Science Liaison role at Cytokinetics centres on fostering meaningful scientific exchange with leading healthcare professionals and institutions throughout the UK (nationwide) (nationwide). In this capacity you will act as a trusted field-based scientific expert, ensuring that peer-to-peer discussions remain strictly balanced, up-to-date and aligned with regulatory standards. You will also feed clinical insights back into the organisation to refine medical strategy and support evidence generation. Success depends on deep therapeutic understanding, polished presentation skills and the ability to build enduring professional relationships while representing Cytokinetics with integrity in every external interaction.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Conduct regular, non-promotional scientific discussions with key opinion leaders, investigators and other healthcare decision-makers to explore emerging clinical data and unmet needs.
• Present complex medical information at advisory boards, congresses, hospital grand rounds and investigator meetings across the UK (nationwide) (nationwide).
• Identify, map and cultivate relationships with emerging and established thought leaders, providing them with timely, accurate responses to unsolicited medical enquiries.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional colleagues in medical affairs, clinical development and commercial teams to shape local medical plans and educational initiatives.
• Capture and synthesise field insights on treatment patterns, competitor activity and scientific trends, reporting findings through structured feedback channels.
• Support the safe and ethical conduct of company-sponsored or investigator-initiated research by facilitating site engagement and protocol-related discussions.
• Contribute to the preparation and review of medical education materials, ensuring content accuracy and compliance with industry codes of practice.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the relevant disease area, treatment guidelines and the UK (nationwide) (nationwide) healthcare landscape while continuously refining personal scientific expertise.

What You Bring

• Advanced life-science or medical qualification such as PhD, MD, PharmD or equivalent.
• Substantial prior experience operating as a Medical Science Liaison or in a comparable field-based medical affairs role, preferably at senior level.
• Proven ability to interpret and communicate complex clinical and scientific data clearly to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
• Strong understanding of the UK (nationwide) (nationwide) healthcare system, NICE processes and ABPI/PMCPA guidelines governing medical interactions.
• Excellent interpersonal influence, relationship-building skills and personal organisation required to manage a territory independently.
• Willingness and capability to travel extensively within the UK (nationwide) (nationwide) to meet healthcare professionals and attend scientific events.
• Demonstrated integrity, curiosity and a collaborative mindset when working with internal multidisciplinary teams.
