The Opportunity
ENGIE Group is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. Reporting directly to the South Africa General Counsel and Chief Ethics Officer, this full-time position offers an exciting opportunity for professionals looking to contribute to our mission of accelerating the transition towards a carbon-neutral economy.
What You'll Do
- Provide comprehensive legal advice on a wide range of matters related to energy law and corporate governance
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations
- Oversee the management of legal risks and ensure that all business activities are conducted in accordance with ethical standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential legal issues
- Represent the company in negotiations and litigation as necessary
