Uline, Inc. seeks a Senior International Trade Compliance Specialist in Libertyville, Lake County for a full-time position. As a key member of our global operations team, you'll ensure our shipping, industrial, and packaging materials reach customers smoothly while maintaining strict regulatory compliance across North American borders.
About the Role
In this hands-on leadership position, you'll own the strategy and execution of our international trade compliance program. You'll navigate complex tariff structures, manage customs relationships, and drive cost optimization opportunities across our supply chain. This role reports directly to senior leadership and influences how Uline operates in the global marketplace.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement trade compliance policies that align with US, Canadian, and Mexican regulations
- Analyze tariff classifications and trade agreements to identify duty savings and cost reduction opportunities
- Oversee customs documentation, declarations, and regulatory filings for imports and exports
- Monitor changes in international trade law and assess impact on company operations
- Conduct compliance audits and risk assessments across warehouse and distribution networks
- Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and legal teams to resolve trade-related issues
- Train and mentor team members on compliance requirements and best practices
- Maintain records and prepare documentation for customs audits and regulatory inquiries
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in international trade compliance, customs, or import/export operations
- Expert knowledge of US tariff classifications, USMCA, and customs regulations
- Proficiency with trade compliance software and customs documentation systems
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in complex regulatory environments
- Excellent communication and ability to explain compliance requirements to non-specialists
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, international relations, or related field
- Certification in customs brokerage or international trade compliance preferred
