About the Role

As a Senior Information Assurance Specialist at ValidaTek, you will lead efforts to secure and strengthen the IT environments that keep government organizations running. Based in Washington, D.C., you will apply your security clearance and deep technical expertise to assess risk, enforce compliance, and ensure that critical federal systems remain resilient against evolving threats.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, monitor, and improve the security posture of federal information systems supporting civilian and defense missions.
  • Conduct risk assessments, security control evaluations, and continuous monitoring activities to maintain compliance.
  • Develop and maintain security documentation aligned with applicable federal frameworks and authorization requirements.
  • Partner with engineering and program teams to embed information assurance practices throughout system modernization efforts.
  • Identify vulnerabilities, recommend remediation strategies, and verify that corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Provide senior-level guidance on cybersecurity policy, standards, and best practices to stakeholders and teammates.

Qualifications

  • An active security clearance is required for this position.
  • Demonstrated experience in information assurance, cybersecurity, or a closely related discipline at a senior level.
  • Working knowledge of federal security and compliance frameworks used across civilian and defense agencies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risk and translate findings into actionable safeguards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for producing security documentation and advising stakeholders.
  • Ability to work on-site in Washington, D.C. in a full-time capacity.
