Knotch-inc is hiring a Senior Finance Manager (Controller Track, Accounting, Automation & FP&A) for a full-time remote role serving candidates across the United States. This position is designed for a seasoned finance leader who thrives at the intersection of rigorous accounting, process automation, and forward-looking FP&A while building toward greater controllership responsibility.

About the Role

As Senior Finance Manager (Controller Track, Accounting, Automation & FP&A) at Knotch-inc, you will own the integrity of core accounting operations and drive scalable automation that reduces manual work across the finance function. You will also own key elements of financial planning and analysis so leadership receives timely insights, forecasts, and variance narratives. Working fully remote within the United States, you will partner closely with internal stakeholders, strengthen internal controls, and progressively take on controller-level ownership of the close cycle, reporting, and process design. The role blends hands-on technical finance execution with leadership of continuous-improvement initiatives that prepare you for broadening controller responsibilities over time.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full accounting close process, including preparation, review, and delivery of accurate financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Identify, design, and implement automation opportunities across accounting, reconciliation, and reporting workflows
  • Own budgeting, forecasting, rolling projections, and management reporting within the FP&A cadence
  • Analyze business performance, explain variances, and convert findings into clear recommendations for decision-makers
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, documentation, and compliance with applicable U.S. accounting standards
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to improve financial data quality, system usage, and process efficiency
  • Mentor finance teammates and build readiness for increased controller-track accountabilities

What You Bring

  • Substantial senior-level experience covering accounting ownership, finance automation initiatives, and FP&A delivery
  • Solid command of U.S. GAAP, period-end close discipline, and external or management reporting standards
  • Proven ability to evaluate, select, and embed automation tools or system improvements that raise accuracy and capacity
  • Strong FP&A skills in forecasting models, budgeting cycles, scenario analysis, and executive storytelling
  • Clear written and verbal communication habits that work well in a distributed, remote United States setting
  • Demonstrated leadership maturity and the ambition to progress along a controller career track
