About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Subscriptions Mission. Our team is dedicated to growing Spotify's audience by engaging with people in innovative ways throughout their user journey on the platform. We collaborate across research, product development, product design, engineering, and marketing to quickly create meaningful features and services for millions of users worldwide. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will contribute to building and maintaining Java services that drive user conversion, retention, and upsells.
Core Duties
- Architect, develop, and operate Java services serving our users through the merchandising platform for cohesive and relevant conversion and upsell journeys.
- Collaborate with your squad and key internal partners to design scalable backend systems and data models.
- Support a platformized approach utilizing new decision-making systems for user experience combined with content management solutions handling necessary complexities.
Qualifications
- Experience in architecting, developing, and operating Java services.
- A proven track record of working on large-scale backend systems.
- Strong understanding of data models and scalable system design.
- Knowledge of machine learning and personalization techniques is a plus.
