About the Role
The Senior Data Engineer will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing our enterprise data platform. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing and innovative team within a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Gloucester.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement data solutions
- Ensure high-quality data integrity and consistency across the platform
- Work on optimizing data storage and retrieval for efficient operations
- Participate in code reviews, design sessions, and technical discussions
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or equivalent role
- Demonstrable expertise in data warehousing technologies such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift
- Familiarity with ETL processes and tools like Apache Airflow, Luigi, or similar
- Experience with big data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop)
- A strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on quality and efficiency
