What This Role Involves

The Security and Safety Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of REI's global operations. This position involves developing and implementing comprehensive safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and training staff on safety measures to prevent accidents and incidents.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain safety policies and procedures for all international locations
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards
• Provide safety training and education to employees, including emergency response protocols
• Collaborate with local authorities and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant regulations
• Respond to incidents and accidents, conducting investigations and recommending corrective actions

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in security or safety management
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective safety programs
• Strong knowledge of international safety regulations and standards
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor's degree in a related field; certification in safety management is preferred
