School-Based Occupational Therapist – Part Time

Pediatric Developmental Services is seeking a dedicated school-based occupational therapist (OTR/L) to join our team in Laurel, Sussex County. This is an excellent opportunity to deliver therapeutic interventions to children in a school setting, directly impacting their academic and developmental progress.

What This Role Involves

As a school-based occupational therapist with Pediatric Developmental Services, you'll provide evidence-based occupational therapy services to school-age children in a collaborative educational environment. You'll conduct comprehensive evaluations, design individualized intervention plans, and deliver therapy services that support children's functional abilities in academic and social settings.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Perform occupational therapy evaluations and assessments to identify children's developmental needs and functional limitations
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with each child's educational goals
• Deliver hands-on occupational therapy services focusing on motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and academic performance
• Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to integrate therapy strategies into classroom and home environments
• Document client progress, maintain accurate clinical records, and prepare reports for school records
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute occupational therapy expertise to educational planning

What You Bring

• Current license as an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR/L) in the United States
• Experience working with pediatric populations, ideally in school or clinical settings
• Strong knowledge of child development, sensory-motor integration, and educational support strategies
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to supporting children's growth and independence
