Facilities Assistant- 2nd Shift

Fresh Express is hiring a full-time Facilities Assistant for the 2nd shift at our Swatara, Dauphin County location. This is a hands-on facilities maintenance position supporting our operations through essential equipment operation and site upkeep.

About the Role

As a Facilities Assistant on the 2nd shift at our Swatara, Dauphin County facility, you'll play a vital part in maintaining the infrastructure and grounds that keep our operations running smoothly. You'll operate a variety of mechanical equipment, manage waste and recycling systems, and ensure both indoor and outdoor areas remain safe and well-maintained. This full-time position offers the opportunity to develop valuable skills in equipment operation and facility care while contributing directly to workplace safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and riding tractors for material movement and placement
• Run hydraulic recycle balers and trash compactors to process waste and recyclables
• Operate snow plows and perform seasonal maintenance during winter months
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout interior and exterior facility areas
• Perform routine facility inspections and report maintenance issues or equipment problems
• Support waste management and recycling operations as assigned

Qualifications

• Ability to safely operate heavy equipment including forklifts and material handling machinery
• Willingness to work 2nd shift hours
• Physical capability to perform outdoor maintenance work in various weather conditions
• Reliability and attention to safety protocols
• Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team
