RN Surgical ICU Nights

Position Summary

The Surgical ICU at UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies is seeking experienced RNs to join our dedicated team during night shifts. In this role, you'll provide specialized nursing care to post-operative and critically ill surgical patients, working in a fast-paced environment that demands clinical excellence, quick decision-making, and strong teamwork. Our Night Shift Incentive Program recognizes and rewards nurses who choose the evening and overnight schedule.

Core Duties

• Monitor and assess surgical patients in the intensive care setting, responding promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, manage IV lines, and perform wound care according to established protocols
• Operate and troubleshoot bedside monitoring equipment and life support systems
• Communicate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to coordinate patient treatment plans
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record
• Provide compassionate support to patients and families during critical care episodes
• Maintain compliance with safety protocols and infection control standards

Requirements

• Valid Colorado RN license in good standing
• Ability to work a full-time night shift schedule of 72 hours per two-week pay period
• Clinical expertise in acute and critical patient care
• Proficiency with electronic health records and bedside technology
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to patient safety and quality care standards
