Research Assistant – Pittsburgh, PA (Health Policy & Management) – Staff

Johns Hopkins University is seeking a Research Assistant based in Pittsburgh, PA to support our Health Policy and Management research initiatives. As a full-time member of the research team, you will manage critical research data and support studies on housing mobility—programs designed to expand family opportunity by facilitating moves to communities with greater economic resources and educational infrastructure.

About the Role

This position is central to research examining how housing mobility initiatives enable families to access neighborhoods with stronger schools, employment networks, and community resources. You will serve as a data steward, ensuring the accuracy, security, and accessibility of information that informs policy decisions and helps advance equitable housing strategies.

What You'll Do

• Oversee and conduct data collection for research studies, ensuring consistent adherence to established protocols and procedures
• Organize, structure, and manage research datasets using appropriate databases and documentation systems
• Coordinate data management activities with Principal Investigators and research team members to support study objectives
• Validate data quality, identify inconsistencies, and document methodologies to ensure analytical integrity
• Maintain strict confidentiality standards and ensure compliance with institutional review board guidelines and privacy regulations
• Prepare regular reports on data collection progress and address any issues affecting research timelines

• Demonstrated experience in data management, research coordination, or related analytical responsibilities
• Proficiency with data organization platforms and databases; strong organizational and detail-oriented work habits
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with ability to work effectively across research teams
