About the Role

The CausalML Lab at Johns Hopkins University, directed by Dr. Murat Kocaoglu, is recruiting driven postdoctoral scholars to begin in 2026. As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will collaborate closely with Dr. Kocaoglu and fellow lab members on cutting-edge research that designs foundational algorithms for causal decision making, with a particular emphasis on real-world, non-IID time series data.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine core algorithms for causal inference and decision making.
• Work with complex, real-world, non-IID time series datasets.
• Partner directly with Dr. Kocaoglu and members of the CausalML Lab on shared research goals.
• Contribute to scholarly outputs and disseminate findings to the broader research community.

Qualifications

• A completed (or soon-to-be-completed) doctoral degree in a relevant field such as machine learning, computer science, statistics, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated motivation and the ability to drive independent research.
• Background or strong interest in causal inference, machine learning, and time series analysis.
• Willingness to work on-site in Baltimore as part of a collaborative laboratory environment.
