Repair and Tool Technician

Home Depot is hiring a full-time Repair and Tool Technician in Folsom, Sacramento County. If you have hands-on mechanical expertise and enjoy diagnosing and fixing power equipment, this role offers the opportunity to deliver essential repair services to our community while building expertise in small engine and electrical device maintenance.

About the Role

As a Repair and Tool Technician, you'll be the expert behind the scenes keeping our customers' equipment in top condition. You'll work across our Tool Rental Centers and dedicated repair facilities, taking on diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance for everything from compact engines to cordless tools. Your work directly impacts customer satisfaction and rental cycle times—making this a role where your technical skills create immediate value.

What You'll Do

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair small engines and outdoor power equipment
• Service handheld electrical tools and devices, identifying root causes and determining the best repair approach
• Perform routine maintenance and tune-ups to extend equipment life and performance
• Document all repairs and maintenance in our system with accuracy and detail
• Provide equipment recommendations to customers based on their rental or repair needs
• Maintain safety standards and keep your work area organized and efficient

What We're Looking For

• Experience repairing small engines, power tools, or similar mechanical equipment
• Solid understanding of electrical systems and electrical hand tools
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort troubleshooting equipment problems
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with customers
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
