Registered Nurse – OLL – PACU – Part Time

Guthrie Enterprise is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the OLL-PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) for part-time work in Choconut, Broome County. This is an opportunity to deliver specialized acute care to patients in their immediate post-operative recovery, making a tangible difference in surgical outcomes and patient experience.

The Opportunity

As a part-time RN in our OLL-PACU setting, you'll provide direct patient care during the critical post-operative recovery phase. This role offers the chance to work in a fast-paced acute care environment where clinical precision, compassion, and attention to detail drive patient safety and satisfaction. You'll collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and care teams to ensure smooth transitions from operating room to recovery and beyond. Your nursing expertise will directly impact patient outcomes and family peace of mind during a vulnerable time.

Core Duties

• Monitor vital signs and physiological responses in post-operative patients
• Assess and manage pain, nausea, and other recovery-related symptoms
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and per protocol
• Document patient status and nursing interventions accurately and timely
• Communicate with surgical and anesthesia teams regarding patient progress
• Prepare patients for transfer to inpatient units or discharge to home
• Provide compassionate support and education to patients and families

What We're Looking For

• Active RN licensure in New York State
• Experience in acute care nursing or post-anesthesia care preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a dynamic environment
