About the Role

In this full-time Registered Behavior Technician position based in Schoolcraft, Michigan, you deliver direct, one-to-one assistance that follows customized intervention plans designed and overseen by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Sessions focus on teaching communication, social, and daily living abilities while reducing behaviors that interfere with growth. Comprehensive training is provided, so prior experience is welcome but not required. The work is active and physical: you must be comfortable standing, walking, sitting, grasping, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, squatting, lifting, and at times carrying children or objects weighing up to 50 pounds. At day’s end you leave knowing you have made a tangible difference for a child and family. Hourly pay falls between $17.00 and $20.00 depending on qualifications and experience.

Your Responsibilities

  • Carry out individualized behavior intervention plans in one-on-one sessions under the direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst
  • Use proven instructional techniques to develop communication, social interaction, and everyday living skills
  • Address and reduce interfering behaviors so learning can progress
  • Partner effectively with clinical colleagues to maintain consistent, high-quality care
  • Stay physically engaged and adaptable during sessions that involve movement and play

What We're Looking For

  • Strong passion for helping children with autism reach their potential
  • Patience, compassion, and the ability to collaborate well within a team
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Capacity to obtain CPR and First Aid certification plus a Tuberculosis test if none has been completed in the past year
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
  • Physical ability to move into and hold various positions (sit, squat, bend, and similar) and to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Helpful but not required backgrounds include earlier service as a behavior technician, work with children who have autism or learning differences, or experience as a teacher’s aide, tutor, CNA, caregiver, or home health aide.
