Regional HR Advisor – term-time only

Join Talent Hive as a Regional HR Advisor in Cockfosters, Barnet, supporting our established education catering operations across the London area. This is a full-time, term-time only position offering flexible working patterns and genuine work-life balance.

Position Summary

We're seeking an experienced HR professional to lead people strategy and operational support across our respected education catering business. Based in Cockfosters, Barnet, you'll operate as a field-based HR advisor across multiple sites, with flexible working arrangements built into your contract. Working 39 weeks per year on a full-time basis, this role combines strategic HR leadership with hands-on people management in a growth-focused sector. Salary: up to £40,000 term-time only (52-week equivalent: £53,300).

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Manage recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives for catering and support teams across multiple locations
• Provide employee relations support, handling workplace concerns, performance matters, and staff queries
• Lead HR policy development and compliance reviews aligned with education sector standards and best practice
• Partner with site managers and leadership to design and deliver targeted people development and training
• Oversee contract management, payroll liaison, and HR administration across your operating region
• Conduct workforce planning and training needs analysis to support term-time operational requirements

What We're Looking For

• CIPD qualification or equivalent HR professional experience—minimum 3+ years in a dedicated HR advisory capacity
• Established background in education, catering, hospitality, or similar people-intensive service sectors
• Sound knowledge of employment law, ACAS best practice, and HR procedures and compliance
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across all organisational levels
• Proactive, organised approach with ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines
• Comfort working flexibly across field-based and distributed working settings
