Product Design Lead at early-stage consumer social app

Cheez is hiring a Product Design Lead to lead the visual and interactive experience of a rapidly growing consumer social application. Based in The Woodlands, Montgomery County, this is a full-time, in-office role where you'll partner with accomplished engineers and product strategists to build compelling interfaces for mobile users worldwide.

About the Role

As Product Design Lead at this early-stage consumer social app, you'll own the design direction and execution for Cheez—a platform powered by facial recognition that automatically delivers to users the photos their friends capture of them. You'll make critical decisions across mobile app design, user experience strategy, and visual polish, directly shaping how millions of users experience the product.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design of Cheez's mobile application, creating expressive user interfaces and seamless experiences that translate product strategy into pixel-perfect designs
• Map out user flows and interaction patterns that make photo capturing and sharing feel effortless and rewarding
• Conduct user research and validation testing to inform design decisions and drive iterative improvements
• Partner with product and engineering teams (including talent from Google, Apple, Microsoft, and Facebook) to ensure designs are both visually compelling and technically sound
• Establish and evolve a cohesive design system that guides all visual and interactive elements across the mobile app
• Build interactive prototypes and proof-of-concepts to explore new feature possibilities and validate concepts before development

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years in product design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating mobile app design expertise
• Track record leading design for consumer products with significant user bases
• Mastery of modern design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD, plus prototyping capabilities
• Deep knowledge of interaction design principles, visual design, and user-centered research methods
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and moving quickly in an early-stage startup environment
• Strong presentation and communication skills across design, product, and technical audiences
