About the Role
As a News Producer at our Hagerstown station, you're the architect of daily newscasts. You'll manage the complete production pipeline—selecting stories, determining broadcast order, writing compelling teases, and ensuring technical precision through timing and editing. Your work reaches audiences across traditional broadcast, digital platforms, and streaming channels.
What You'll Do
- Curate and sequence news stories for daily newscasts, building rundowns that balance hard news and feature content
- Write teases, headlines, and promotional copy that drive viewer engagement
- Edit and format video content for broadcast and web distribution
- Review and approve scripts for accuracy and broadcast readiness
- Manage newscast timing and technical coordination for on-air delivery
- Upload and optimize video content across digital platforms and the station website
- Produce newscasts for distribution across all available media channels
What We're Looking For
- Experience in news production, broadcast journalism, or related broadcast media role
- Strong writing skills with journalistic accuracy and clarity
- Proficiency in video editing software and broadcast production tools
- Ability to work under deadline pressure and manage multiple stories simultaneously
