This full-time position offers the opportunity to shape daily news programming and lead breaking story coverage for one of the region's most-watched television news operations.
About the Role
As a News Producer at ABC4 News, you'll oversee the editorial vision and execution of daily newscasts. You'll manage fast-paced production workflows, coordinate on-air talent and technical crews, and ensure content meets the highest broadcast standards. This role demands sharp editorial instincts, decisive judgment under deadline pressure, and the flexibility to pivot coverage when major news breaks.
What You'll Do
- Produce newscasts that serve Utah communities with accurate, timely, and compelling journalism
- Lead weather coverage and related reporting across Salt Lake County and throughout the state
- Pursue and own breaking news stories with urgency and editorial excellence
- Collaborate with reporters, anchors, and production staff to deliver polished on-air content
- Make real-time editorial decisions on story selection, placement, and newscast flow
- Adapt swiftly to late-breaking developments and reprioritize coverage as events unfold
