Principal Analyst – Senior Pricer

Maximus is hiring a Principal Analyst - Senior Pricer in Carson City to lead federal pricing strategy and proposal development on defense contracts. As Principal Analyst - Senior Pricer at Maximus, you will drive pricing excellence for Department of Defense and federal contract proposals. Your expertise in federal acquisition regulations, cost analysis methodologies, and strategic pricing will be essential to winning major government contracts. You'll work at the intersection of business strategy, rigorous cost analysis, and federal compliance to deliver proposals that are both competitively strong and fully aligned with DoD regulations and customer expectations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Lead pricing strategy and analysis for federal Requests for Proposals (RFPs), ensuring full compliance with DoD acquisition rules and FAR regulations
• Oversee development of comprehensive cost proposals, pricing models, and financial projections for federal contracts
• Review cost assumptions, escalation methodologies, and risk adjustments across proposal submissions for accuracy and competitiveness
• Collaborate with proposal managers, program teams, and capture leaders to align pricing with technical and operational strategy
• Mentor and develop junior pricing analysts, establishing standards and best practices for proposal quality
• Monitor federal pricing trends, competitive landscape shifts, and regulatory changes affecting DoD contracting

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in federal DoD pricing and proposal development
• Deep knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR), DoD pricing rules, and cost accounting standards
• Expert-level proficiency with Excel and cost modeling; pricing software experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex proposals with competing deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting pricing rationale to executives and stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
