This role offers the opportunity to deliver meaningful instruction to students across a growing network of college-preparatory charter schools.

Role Overview

As a Permanent Substitute Teacher, you'll provide consistent, quality instruction to middle school students when our primary educators are unavailable. Working within our PreK-12 charter school network, you'll help maintain academic continuity and support the school's mission to prepare students for college and life success. This full-time position is central to ensuring all students receive the education they deserve.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily lesson plans prepared by permanent teaching staff, adapting delivery as needed to support diverse learners
• Maintain positive classroom culture through consistent behavior management and student engagement strategies
• Assess student understanding and document progress for communication with supervising teachers
• Monitor attendance, collect assignments, and manage classroom materials and resources responsibly
• Communicate effectively with permanent staff, administration, and families regarding student progress and classroom activities
• Uphold school policies, procedures, and the college-preparatory culture across all student interactions

What You Bring

• Teaching certification (or demonstrated pathway toward certification) valid in Tennessee
• Experience instructing middle school students in a classroom setting
• Proven ability to manage diverse classrooms with fairness, clarity, and professionalism
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Commitment to student achievement and school mission alignment
• Flexibility, reliability, and strong attendance
