About the Role
As a Patrol Officer with the City of Indianapolis and Marion County, you'll bring your law enforcement expertise to our community while maintaining a high standard of professional conduct. This full-time position offers experienced officers the opportunity to serve Indianapolis residents and support public safety across Marion County.
What You'll Do
- Patrol assigned geographic areas using department-issued vehicles and on-foot methods
- Respond to calls for service and address criminal activity within your assigned sector
- Enforce municipal ordinances, state statutes, and county regulations
- Document incidents, arrests, and interactions through required reports and department systems
- Maintain community order and public safety throughout your patrol zone
- Coordinate and communicate with fellow officers and county law enforcement on ongoing operations
What We're Looking For
- Current full-time employment as a sworn police officer with a municipal, county, or state law enforcement agency
- Valid Indiana Law Enforcement Training Academy Tier 1 certification
- Demonstrated experience in patrol operations and law enforcement duties
- Good standing with your current employer
- In-state residency or commitment to relocate to Indiana
- Strong communication, judgment, and community interaction skills
- Ability to work full-time schedules including shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
