About the Role

As a Patrol Officer with the City of Indianapolis and Marion County, you'll bring your law enforcement expertise to our community while maintaining a high standard of professional conduct. This full-time position offers experienced officers the opportunity to serve Indianapolis residents and support public safety across Marion County.

What You'll Do

  • Patrol assigned geographic areas using department-issued vehicles and on-foot methods
  • Respond to calls for service and address criminal activity within your assigned sector
  • Enforce municipal ordinances, state statutes, and county regulations
  • Document incidents, arrests, and interactions through required reports and department systems
  • Maintain community order and public safety throughout your patrol zone
  • Coordinate and communicate with fellow officers and county law enforcement on ongoing operations

What We're Looking For

  • Current full-time employment as a sworn police officer with a municipal, county, or state law enforcement agency
  • Valid Indiana Law Enforcement Training Academy Tier 1 certification
  • Demonstrated experience in patrol operations and law enforcement duties
  • Good standing with your current employer
  • In-state residency or commitment to relocate to Indiana
  • Strong communication, judgment, and community interaction skills
  • Ability to work full-time schedules including shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
