Patient Access Specialist – Part-time Night shift

Emerus is hiring a part-time Patient Access Specialist for the overnight shift at our small-format hospital near Lackland Air Force Base in Bexar County, Texas. If you thrive after dark and take pride in being the welcoming face patients meet first, this Night Shift role may be your ideal fit.

About the Role

As a Patient Access Specialist at Emerus, you are the front door of our Kelly campus, a 22-bed small-format hospital featuring 14 emergency beds and 8 inpatient beds. Working a part-time Night Shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, you help patients begin their care experience smoothly, accurately, and with compassion during the hours when they need reassurance most.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients arriving at the emergency and inpatient departments throughout the overnight shift.
• Collect, verify, and enter demographic and insurance details with a high level of accuracy.
• Support the admission, transfer, and discharge process in coordination with clinical staff.
• Explain forms, obtain required signatures, and safeguard the confidentiality of patient records.
• Answer questions, route inquiries, and deliver a calm, courteous experience to every patient and family member.

Qualifications

• Comfort working independently during a 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Night Shift in a fast-paced hospital setting.
• Strong attention to detail when handling registration, insurance, and patient data.
• Clear, friendly communication skills and a genuine commitment to customer service.
• Ability to stay organized and composed while balancing competing priorities.
• Availability for a part-time schedule on-site at our Kelly location in Bexar County.
