About the Role

As a Part Time Instructor with the East Texas Police Academy, you will deliver high-quality classroom and practical instruction within a program accredited by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE). This teaching position supports Kilgore College's commitment to preparing well-trained, career-ready law enforcement personnel across East Texas through its Kilgore campus and Longview extension center.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses within the academy, which may include basic peace officer, jailer, and telecommunicator curricula, as well as specialized law enforcement classes.
• Prepare lesson materials, demonstrations, and assessments that meet TCOLE accreditation standards.
• Mentor and evaluate students as they build the knowledge and skills required for licensing and certification.
• Maintain accurate attendance, performance, and training records.
• Foster a professional, disciplined, and respectful learning environment that reflects the values of the profession.

Qualifications

• Background in law enforcement, corrections, telecommunications, or a closely related public safety field.
