About This Position

This is a part-time temporary faculty assignment in the History discipline at Imperial Valley College, a dynamic community institution serving the Imperial Valley. You will work under the direction of your department Dean, teaching courses that connect students to historical concepts, events, and perspectives. The role offers the opportunity to shape the intellectual growth of students from varied backgrounds while contributing to the College's mission of educational excellence.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging history coursework aligned with course learning outcomes and institutional standards
• Prepare comprehensive lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that promote student learning and critical analysis
• Evaluate student work through grading, feedback, and constructive evaluation to support academic progress
• Hold regular office hours and provide academic support to students outside the classroom
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and departmental initiatives
• Maintain accurate attendance and grade records using College systems
• Participate in professional development aligned with your discipline

Skills & Qualifications

• Master's degree in History, American Studies, or closely related field (or higher)
• Demonstrated expertise in history content and teaching methodologies
• Ability to teach diverse student populations with cultural competency and inclusivity
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in course design, assessment, and student engagement
• Proficiency with learning management systems and educational technology
