About the Role
This part-time faculty position is open until filled and offers a temporary role with an anticipated 6-month employment term. As Assistant Coach for Men's Basketball, you will partner with the head coach to build a competitive program while prioritizing both the athletic development and academic success of our student-athletes.
What You'll Do
- Provide on-court instruction in basketball fundamentals, skills, and tactical awareness
- Assist with player recruitment, evaluation, and roster management
- Contribute to game preparation and opponent analysis
- Support practice planning and conduct skill-development sessions
- Mentor student-athletes on leadership, discipline, and teamwork
- Participate in team travel and competition during the basketball season
- Collaborate with the coaching staff to foster a winning, inclusive team culture
- Help balance athletics with academic achievement for all players
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in competitive or collegiate men's basketball
- Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals, offense, defense, and player development
- Excellent communication and motivational skills
- Experience mentoring and developing young athletes
- Commitment to supporting both athletic and academic goals
- Flexibility to accommodate practice, game, and travel schedules
- Bachelor's degree preferred
