About the Role
This is a full-time, dedicated team position for Over-the-Road (OTR) refrigerated drivers operating as a 1099 contract team. You'll haul reefer loads on a fixed line-haul route connecting California and Chicago, with no touch freight and predictable weekly runs that keep the wheels turning and the paychecks coming.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate as part of a two-person driving team on a dedicated reefer lane between California and Chicago.
- Run consistent line-haul routes, averaging roughly 3,500 to 4,000 miles per week per team.
- Maintain temperature-controlled freight to protect refrigerated cargo throughout transit.
- Handle no-touch freight — driver loading and unloading are not required.
- Follow all DOT regulations and uphold safe, on-time delivery standards.
Compensation & Home Time
- 1099 contract team pay averaging $3,000–$3,300 gross total per week per team.
- $1,000 sign-on bonus per team.
- Expect 7–10 days out on the road at a time.
- Earn 3 days of home time for every 14 days worked.
- Be home at least 2 weekends each month.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL-A) with verifiable OTR experience.
- Willingness to work as a committed driving team on long-haul reefer routes.
- Comfortable with extended periods on the road and a dedicated cross-country schedule.
- Strong safety record and ability to meet line-haul delivery timelines.
