Office Surveyor – SITE / UG

BECHTEL is seeking an Office Surveyor - SITE / UG to join its team in Clay, Onondaga County, New York. This full‑time role supports civil infrastructure projects by preparing and reviewing survey data for site and underground work.

About the Role

As part of BECHTEL’s project delivery group, the Office Surveyor works closely with field crews, engineers, and designers to ensure accurate measurements and documentation are maintained throughout the lifecycle of SITE/UG assignments. The position involves translating field notes into usable drawings, verifying compliance with project specifications, and assisting in the preparation of reports for internal and external stakeholders.

What You'll Do

• Collect, process, and validate survey data obtained from field crews for site and underground utilities.
• Prepare CAD drawings, profiles, and cross‑sections that meet project standards.
• Perform quality checks on measurements, coordinate with design teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain organized project files, logs, and documentation in accordance with BECHTEL procedures.
• Assist senior surveyors and project managers with cost estimates, scheduling, and progress reporting.
• Stay current with industry‑relevant software updates and emerging surveying techniques.

What We're Looking For

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar drafting tools; experience with GIS platforms is a plus.
• Solid understanding of land surveying principles, coordinate systems, and construction staking.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Compensation is offered within the range of $105,000 to $160,200 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
