Middle School Music Vocational Technician

Plymouth-Canton Community Schools is seeking a dedicated Music Vocational Technician for Pioneer Middle School, a full-time position supporting music instruction and student learning in a collaborative school environment.

About the Role

As a Music Vocational Technician, you'll serve as a classroom instructional support specialist working alongside our music teacher to enhance the learning experience for middle school students. This vocational technician role combines classroom assistance with hands-on technical support in a dynamic music education setting. You'll play an essential part in creating an organized, productive learning environment where students develop musical skills and confidence.

What You'll Do

• Support the music teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons and activities
• Assist with classroom management and student behavior support to maintain a positive learning atmosphere
• Set up, maintain, and organize musical instruments and classroom equipment
• Help students with instrument care, music notation, and fundamental technique
• Manage classroom materials, audio-visual equipment, and technology used in music instruction
• Support administrative tasks such as attendance tracking and record-keeping
• Assist with student assessment activities and progress monitoring
• Participate in school events, performances, and music programs as needed

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to work effectively with middle school students and respond positively to direction
• Basic knowledge of musical instruments or willingness to learn
• Organizational skills and attention to detail
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
• Experience in educational, vocational, or student support settings is a plus
