Middle School Football Coach

Gervais School District 1 is seeking an experienced Middle School Football Coach for our intermural football program during the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time coaching position in Gervais, Marion County offers the opportunity to develop young athletes and build a strong athletic foundation in our community.

About the Role

As the Middle School Football Coach at Gervais Sd 1, you'll direct all aspects of our school's football program, from practice planning and skill development to game preparation and athlete mentoring. Starting in August 2026, this contract position runs through the school year with a salary of $1,869.

What You'll Do

• Plan and conduct daily football practice sessions focused on fundamentals, teamwork, and athletic growth
• Teach proper technique, game strategy, and the rules of football
• Prepare athletes for competitions and manage game-day coaching duties
• Monitor player safety, fitness, and overall athletic development
• Foster a positive, inclusive team environment that builds confidence and character
• Communicate regularly with parents, players, and school administration

What We're Looking For

• Strong knowledge of football's technical and tactical elements
• Genuine interest in staying current with coaching methods and sports science
• Ability to engage, motivate, and mentor middle school–age athletes
• Valid certification or credentials as required by Oregon school district regulations
• Commitment to youth development and athletic excellence
