About the Role
As a Medical Laboratory Scientist at University of Mississippi Medical Center, you'll perform essential diagnostic testing that directly supports patient outcomes. Working in our Grants Ferry Clinic laboratory, you'll handle a variety of specimen types and execute tests across multiple disciplines, ensuring every result meets the highest standards of accuracy and timeliness.
What You'll Do
- Execute clinical laboratory tests on patient specimens including blood, urine, and other body fluids
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory analyzers and instrumentation
- Perform quality assurance and quality control procedures to ensure test validity
- Record test results accurately in the laboratory information system
- Follow established laboratory protocols and safety procedures consistently
- Maintain compliance with infection control and biohazard management standards
- Communicate findings and results to clinical staff in a timely manner

What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field
- Professional certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP, MLSPB, or equivalent)
