Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Lab Scientist to join our team at Duke Health. As part of the state-of-the-art Duke Health laboratories, you will play a crucial role in advancing healthcare through innovative and compassionate care practices.
Your Responsibilities
- Perform complex laboratory procedures with precision and accuracy
- Analyze specimens using automated equipment and manual techniques
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and quality control measures
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide accurate diagnostic information
- Document and report results in a timely manner
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field required; Master’s preferred
- Laboratory experience, preferably in a hospital setting
- Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or similar organization is highly desirable
- Experience with automated laboratory systems and software
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
