About the Role

This is a staff, on-site Medical Lab Scientist position based in Hamtramck, Michigan — not a remote role. As an allied health professional, you will perform laboratory testing and analysis that supports diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing patient management across the Detroit Medical Center network. The assignment is ongoing at 40 hours per week, scheduled in 8-hour shifts. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for candidates who bring the required relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out clinical laboratory testing accurately and within established turnaround times
• Analyze specimens and report results to support physician decision-making
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instrumentation
• Follow quality control, safety, and regulatory standards in all lab procedures
• Document findings carefully and escalate critical or abnormal results promptly
• Collaborate with clinical and allied health teams to ensure dependable patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Background as a Medical Lab Scientist or equivalent allied health professional
• Relevant hands-on laboratory experience (required to qualify for the sign-on bonus)
• Working knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, testing protocols, and quality standards
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to safety procedures
• Availability for full-time, 8-hour shifts in Hamtramck, Wayne County
