Medical Biller / Receptionist

Maple Eye and Laser Center, a growing private ophthalmology practice located in White Plains, Westchester County, is hiring a full-time Medical Biller / Receptionist. We're seeking an experienced, organized professional to manage both patient interactions and medical billing operations in our busy clinical environment.

Role Overview

As Medical Biller / Receptionist at Maple Eye and Laser Center, you'll be the welcoming first point of contact for our patients while simultaneously handling the critical billing and administrative side of our practice. Working weekdays in our White Plains office, you'll balance front-desk responsibilities with medical coding and insurance claim management, supporting the seamless delivery of eye care services.

Your Responsibilities

• Greet patients, check them in, verify insurance information, and manage appointment scheduling
• Process patient payments and maintain accurate financial records
• Submit and track medical insurance claims and follow up on claim status
• Answer phones, direct inquiries, and provide customer support
• Prepare patient billing statements and handle billing inquiries professionally
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
• Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth daily operations

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a medical biller, medical receptionist, or related healthcare administrative role
• Strong knowledge of medical coding, insurance verification, and claims processing
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-focused mindset
• Proficiency with medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a busy, dynamic healthcare setting
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in billing and patient data entry
• Organizational skills and ability to prioritize competing tasks
• Computer literacy and comfort learning new software platforms
