About This Position

The Materials Department at CFS is seeking a dedicated and skilled Materials Test Operator to join our team. As a key member of the mechanical testing and characterization laboratory, you will be responsible for supporting industry-standard and customized mechanical tests, ensuring rigorous data acquisition, specimen preparation, and microscopy tasks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tensile, compression, flexural, shear, and fatigue tests using Universal Testing Machines such as Instron, Load Cells, and Extensometers.
• Prepare metallographic specimens for detailed analysis under the guidance of the team lead.
• Perform essential microscopy tasks to support material characterization.
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders regarding test results and data reporting needs.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is in optimal working condition.
• Support production lines by providing timely mechanical testing services as required.

What We're Looking For

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in materials testing and characterization.
• Familiarity with Universal Testing Machines, Load Cells, Extensometers, and other relevant equipment.
• Strong understanding of metallographic specimen preparation techniques.
• Proficiency in using microscopy tools for material analysis.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage data reporting and stakeholder interactions.
• A proactive approach to maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring its optimal performance.
