About the Role
The Footwear Materials Manager at Arcteryx.com will lead our Materials Development team and manage relationships with Tier 2 partners. Reporting to the Vice President of Product Development & Engineering, Footwear, this role is based in Portland, Oregon, requiring on-location presence.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead the Materials Development team and manage key Tier 2 partnerships
- Collaborate closely with Materials Designers, Footwear Developers, Engineers, and teams in Asia to create innovative products for mountain athletes
- Directly manage footwear product developers and have dotted line responsibility for materials analysts in Asia
- Participate as a member of the Footwear Product Creation leadership team, executing seasonal product creation processes and innovation agendas
- Focused on upper materials, while also heavily influencing strategy related to foams and rubbers
What We're Looking For
We seek a driven professional with experience in footwear materials management. You should have a deep understanding of product development processes and supply chain dynamics. A background in outdoor gear or technical apparel is preferred, along with proven leadership skills and the ability to manage cross-functional teams effectively.
