MATERIALS TEST OPERATOR | CFSenergy | Devens, MA About This Position The Materials Department at CFS is seeking a dedicated and skilled Materials Test Operator to join our team. As a key member of the mechanical testing and characterization laboratory, you will be responsible for supporting industry-standard and customized mechanical tests, ensuring rigorous data acquisition, specimen preparation, and microscopy tasks. Responsibilities Conduct tensile, compression, flexural, shear, and fatigue tests using Universal Testing Machines such as Instron, Load Cells, and Extensometers. Prepare metallographic specimens for detailed analysis under the guidance of the team lead. Perform essential microscopy tasks to support material characterization. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders regarding test results and data reporting needs. Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is in optimal working condition. Support production lines by providing timely mechanical testing services as required. What We're Looking For A minimum of 2 years of experience in materials testing and characterization. Familiarity with Universal Testing Machines, Load Cells, Extensometers, and other relevant equipment. Strong understanding of metallographic specimen preparation techniques. Proficiency in using microscopy tools for material analysis. Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage data reporting and stakeholder interactions.
