Nelnet Servicing is hiring a Managing Director, Product to lead product strategy and execution for the Student Giving and Opportunities (SGO) division. This full-time position is based in the United States and offers the opportunity to shape the future of education technology serving thousands of schools and millions of students nationwide.
About the Role
As Managing Director of Product for SGO, you will own the strategic vision, roadmap, and delivery of products that empower educational organizations and their communities. You'll partner across engineering, operations, design, and go-to-market teams to build solutions that drive institutional and student success.
What You'll Do
- Define and communicate product strategy, positioning, and roadmap aligned with institutional and student needs
- Lead cross-functional product development from conception through launch and optimization
- Gather and synthesize market intelligence, customer feedback, and usage data to inform product decisions
- Collaborate with sales, customer success, and operations to ensure products meet market demand and customer expectations
- Analyze competitive landscape and identify opportunities for differentiation and growth
- Mentor and develop product team members and foster a culture of innovation
- Report on product performance metrics, adoption, and business impact
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of product management or product leadership experience, ideally in EdTech, SaaS, or payments
- Proven track record launching products and driving user adoption at scale
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with data-driven decision-making
- Excellent cross-functional leadership and communication abilities
- Deep understanding of K-12 or higher education market dynamics (preferred)
- Experience with student engagement, fundraising, or institutional technology solutions (a plus)
