What You'll Do
As the Manager of Policy & Government Relations at Harrison McMillan, you will:
- Influence policy and legislative frameworks that impact Australia's Deaf community
- Develop and implement strategic government relations initiatives
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including government officials, advocacy groups, and industry partners
- Conduct research and analysis to inform policy positions and strategies
- Advocate for the rights and interests of Australia's Deaf community at both state and federal levels
Requirements
- Proven experience in policy development, government relations, or advocacy work
- A deep understanding of the social, political, and legislative landscape affecting the Deaf community
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders
- Experienced in strategic planning and project management
- Demonstrated ability to influence policy outcomes through effective advocacy and stakeholder engagement
- A commitment to social justice and a passion for improving the lives of Australia's Deaf community
