Financial Accounting Advisory Services – Finance Optimization – Manager

EY is seeking a Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) Manager to drive finance optimization initiatives and lead advisory engagements in Pico Heights, California. This full-time role offers the opportunity to advance client financial performance while building and mentoring a high-performing team in the dynamic Southern California market.

About the Role

As a Manager in Financial Accounting Advisory Services, you will lead complex finance transformation projects, helping clients optimize their accounting operations, strengthen financial controls, and navigate regulatory change. You'll oversee the full lifecycle of advisory engagements—from strategy and planning through implementation and results validation—while maintaining strong client relationships and delivering measurable value.

What You'll Do

• Direct financial accounting advisory projects, translating client challenges into tailored optimization strategies
• Conduct diagnostic assessments of client finance functions, identifying cost reduction and efficiency opportunities
• Develop and present recommendations for accounting process redesign, technology implementation, and organizational restructuring
• Oversee project execution, manage timelines and budgets, and ensure quality delivery against client expectations
• Build and mentor staff, fostering technical growth and professional development within your team
• Cultivate and expand client relationships, generating repeat business and identifying cross-selling opportunities
• Stay current with accounting standards, regulatory trends, and industry best practices in financial operations

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• CPA certification (required or in progress) demonstrating commitment to the profession
• 7+ years of experience in financial accounting, audit, or advisory services, including proven supervisory experience
• Strong expertise in accounting processes, GAAP, and financial reporting frameworks
• Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously
• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving capabilities with sharp attention to detail
• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities for both technical and executive audiences
• Demonstrated ability to build teams, mentor professionals, and drive engagement and retention
