Invenergy is hiring a Manager, Development (Permitting) in Chicago for a full-time position. This is a key leadership role directing regulatory strategy and permitting initiatives for large-scale energy infrastructure projects across North America.
About the Role
As Manager, Development (Permitting), you will oversee the permitting and regulatory pathway for Invenergy's project portfolio. You'll lead successful navigation through complex approval processes, manage critical relationships with regulatory agencies and stakeholders, and ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local energy regulations. This role combines strategic planning with direct project execution.
What You'll Do
- Direct permitting and regulatory strategy for natural gas, solar, wind, energy storage, and transmission projects
- Engage with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies on behalf of project development teams
- Lead internal teams through permitting timelines and milestone achievement
- Assess regulatory risks early and develop mitigation strategies
- Support project investment due diligence and regulatory feasibility analysis
- Stay current with evolving energy regulations and permitting best practices
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in energy project development, regulatory affairs, or permitting management
- Strong command of energy sector regulations and permitting requirements
- Track record successfully managing complex multi-jurisdictional permitting processes
- Excellent project coordination and stakeholder communication abilities
- Demonstrated leadership and team-building capabilities
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, law, policy, or related field
